MDF Sheets
More information about MDF Sheets
What is MDF, and what are MDF sheets used for?
MDF, or Medium Density Fibreboard, is a versatile, engineered wood sheet material that is suitable for a huge range of construction, DIY and crafts applications. MDF sheets are created by breaking down hardwood and softwood into wood fibres that are then compressed with wax and a resin binder into MDF panels.
A fantastic multi-purpose sheet material, MDF wood can be used in a wide variety of applications including construction, furniture making, internal joinery, panelling, DIY and crafts. MDF is a great option for furniture such as cupboards, shelves, tables, dressers, doors and much more, as well as in creative woodwork projects such as signage and model making. This is because MDF boards are manufactured and therefore free from natural defects, with a smooth, precision-finished surface that is very easy to cut, screw into and paint over.
MDF panels are also common because of the consistency between sheets, making it easier to create a uniform look. If you’re looking for MDF flooring, our sheets can be used as underlayment for flooring to provide a stable substrate, or as temporary flooring.
