More information about Mouldings
What are timber mouldings?
Timber mouldings are used to add a decorative trim to pieces of furniture, walls, doors and ceilings. Made from strips of timber that are shaped into specific designs, our selection of wooden mouldings are the perfect way to add the final details to your customers’ home and bring the whole room design together.
Architectural and decorative moulding types
Mouldings can be used for practical purposes, like covering the gap where a wall meets the floor or ceiling, to prevent draughts as well as protect the surface. But more often than not, timber mouldings are used for decorative purposes such as breaking up the space on a wall, or adding stylish detail to the edges of doors and windows or the joint between walls and the ceiling/floor.
Wooden mouldings can be known as both architectural mouldings or decorative mouldings, and we have a wide variety at Selco. If you’re looking to cover the inside of a door, there’s our arch & door stop mouldings. View our scotia mouldings for covering the edges of skirting board, or our dado rails & picture rails to divide a wall. Picture rail, quadrant, dowel, angle mouldings and more - we’ve got it!
