What are the benefits of pine skirting boards?
Softwood skirting boards are a popular option for finishing the bottoms of internal walls and hiding the joint between the wall and the floor. Softwood pine is a great choice if you’re looking for natural wood skirting and architrave as it has a warm appearance with natural wood grain patterns that can add homely charm to a room.
Softwood pine is more affordable than other wood skirting types such as hardwood or oak veneer, but it still offers excellent durability and longevity when properly maintained. It is easy to cut and work with using common woodworking tools, and it’s easy to paint or stain too. You can paint the skirting to match the rest of the interior or opt for a varnish or stain instead to allow the natural grain of the wood to shine through.

What pine skirting profiles do we have available?

Some of our more conventional softwood skirting boards include the ogee pine skirting board, which has an s-shaped profile across the top of the moulding, and the pine torus skirting, which has a semi-circle curve along the top.
We also stock a pine bullnose skirting board that is reversible and becomes a chamfered skirting when flipped, with the bullnose side sporting a soft curved design and the chamfered side featuring a more angular profile.
