Roof felt for protection and enhancement – we've got it!
Roofing felt, also known as shed roof felt or roof underlay, is a roofing material used to provide an extra layer of protection and waterproofing in between the roof timber deck and the final roofing layer, such as tiles or slates. Roof felt is often made from synthetic materials such as fibreglass and bitumen and are usually sold in easy-to-install rolls that can be cut into sheets and placed, overlapping, along the roof. We’ve got a selection of high-quality products from well-known brands including IKO roofing felt.
Waterproofing is the main benefit of using roof felting – it acts as a protective layer to prevent the build-up of moisture and condensation or leaks, as well as water vapor from inside the building. But there are many other benefits to using shed roof felt including heat resistance, enhancing the longevity of the other roofing materials, and it is very easy to install with adhesives or roof nails.
We’ve got a good selection of flat roof felt available, including torch-on felt which is melted onto the roof with a blowtorch such as the IKO Torch-On Cap Sheet. Our selection of breathable roof felts, also known as breathable roof membranes, are designed to allow air to circulate and vapor to escape, while still preventing water penetration.
