Our 2024 Community Heroes competition has now closed
This year we called out to all community groups, clubs and charities across the UK for their chance to improve their facilities by winning a share of a prize pot worth more than £10,000!
Our popular Community Heroes competition has now closed for entries for 2024, our fourth year running. Community Heroes has already supported good causes from Northumberland to Cornwall with £36,000 in cash and building materials.
Over the course of six months, 12 winners benefited from £500 to spend at their nearest Selco. A public vote is soon to follow, with one overall winner bagging £5,000 in cash, and a runner-up will be awarded £1,000.
This year's Community Heroes competition was open to any charity or group which is at the heart of its local community.
Alison Wong, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Selco, said: “We’re delighted to announce the return of Community Heroes as we strive to support good causes across the country. We welcome entries from any group that benefits the local community, whether that’s a scout group, a grassroots sports club, a community centre or anything similar.”
