What is stair cladding and what is it used for?
Stair cladding is a great option for transforming the look and feel of an existing staircase, without having to start from scratch and replace the whole thing. If you’re working on an older staircase that needs a refresh, or simply want to improve the look or the functionality of your stairs with minimal effort, staircase cladding is ideal for your project.
Stair cladding is a cover that fits over the stringer, stair tread and riser, giving the stair steps a new appearance whilst also providing extra protection and durability. Cladding for stairs can be made from various materials including wood, laminate, vinyl or carpet depending on your customer’s budget and preferences. Different styles of step treads can be used to either blend into the rest of the flooring in the home or create a contrasting statement piece to add character and texture to the space.
