Spades & shovels
Digging spades and shovels are very similar in design with wide, flat blades that can be rounded or squared and are used to move soil around when gardening and planting. There are many different shapes and styles, including a graft shovel or graft spade which has a dished blade and is specially designed for clay digging and heavy groundwork.
Spades usually have a shorter handle and flat, square blades – they’re ideal for digging smaller holes, edging flower beds and more precise digging tasks in the garden.
